NOIRE.S is a personal and political diary that tells the story of today’s Black French women through the lens of intersectionality. Layered with several voices, it explores the different identities that make up the lives of Black women and how they are multiple. Through anecdotes from her life, interviews, and quotes from writers, searchers, and feminists, the artist highlights how stereotypes about Black women lock them in and erase their individuality.
NOIRE.S is the key to understanding the immersive mixed media installation NOIRES that accompanies it.
NOIRE.S is written in English and French, printed in risography, designed by Chloé Delchini, and handmade.
